Before and Afters

I love a good upcycle.  There's something about ripping things apart and re-using them either as a better version of the original piece, or for a completely different use altogether.
It's kinder on the environment, your budget, your creativity - and it brings more personality and warmth to a space than mass-produced pieces.
I am slowly working my way through a number of upcycled pieces in this house - so many that I decided they needed their own section, so you can see the before and afters of each piece!

Another garage sale find; this large danish-style sideboard was literally being given away for $15!

This was a little bedside table I picked up at Broome's only secondhand shop for $5 right before it shut down (sniff). Look at those knobs!

BEFORE
Once it was painted in blackboard paint and filled with books, it suddenly became much cuter.

This purple puffy stool was bought off eBay for $5.50.  It is possibly the worst upholstery job I've ever seen.
BEFORE
It was originally covered in a Zebra print for Archie's room, but it spends a lot of time in the lounge as a foot-stool.

This bench was also bought at the Broome secondhand shop.  It was solid - but grubby.

BEFORE
It only needed some fresh fabric to be brought back to life:
